Ready, willing and able is how I would describe the "Last of the MoRicans" paintball team this past Saturday. To the surprise of the "Horsemen", the "MoRican"s showed up with a well put together team of soldiers. An energetic well put together "Last of the Morican" team consisting of a few crafty woodsball Vets, a few talented speedball gunners and a few feisty young rookies proved to be more then a handful for the "Horsemen".
When all the trash talk was done and everyone was locked and loaded it was time to get focused and head off to the battle grounds. First stop the "Rabbit", a slow paced well spread out woodsball field wich in the past belonged to the "Horsemen". "Last of the MoRicans" pushed forward at a faster pace then the "Horsemen" were use to seeing on this field. Overtaking about 75% of the field in a short amount of time helped the "MoRicans" begin the day with a victory. After a brief regrouping and tactical position meeting drawn up by Capt. Coy aka "Picasso" the "Horsemen" were able to recliam the "Rabbit" and capture their first win of the Day. Tied 1-1 it was on to the "Delta" where the "Horsemen" were shutout and clearly not in sinc. Heading off to lunch down 3-1, one thing was clear, the "Horsemen" had to buckle down and find a way to play as a team. A quick lunch break and strategy briefing in the parking lot proved to be exactly what the "Horsemen" needed.
After Lunch it was off to the "Hyper Pipes" a fast paced speedball field wich almost always is an advantage to the team with the most speedball members. But not this time, the "Horsemen" took the "Hyper Pipes" by storm over powering the "MoRicans" and taking 2 out of 3 games away from the teams that had more speedball experience. Heading off to our last field of the day "Omaha", "Last of the MoRicans" were leading the day by a score of 4-3. The first battle on "Omaha" was a long Challenging one. With a lot of soldiers from each team being eliminated, the end result was the "MoRicans" pulling off yet another victory. With only 1 battle left for the day the "Horsemen" knew that they had to pull out a victory if they didn't want to go home with the "MoRicans" up 2 games. Needless to say the "Horsemen" put on a show and won the last game to end the day with a 5-4 loss to the "Last of the MoRicans"
The 2010 seasons total stands tied "Last of the MoRicans" (1) the "Horsemen" (1). Thanks to evryony from both teams who came out and made our outting a pleasent one. We look forward to doing battle with you all again very soon.
Paintball Pioneers would like to send a special thanks out to Chris and the entire staff at (PSI) Paintball Sports Inc. for once again making us feel welcomed at your fields.
